![]() CNET SENUTI ANDROIDThere may not be as many apps in the Android market, but everything I need and would use is out there, plus a vibrant developer and modder community. For me, I'd put it right up there with iOs. It's just a beautiful and useful piece of hardware. CNET SENUTI UPDATEI just got an update pushed from HTC this morning that makes it run even more smoothly than before. Yes, we won't get Froyo until later this summer, but at least there are a couple of updates every year. The battery life was really bad at first, but now I easliy get through a day with plenty of power to spare, and that's using it pretty consistently through the day for web surfing, games, calendar, etc. I've been with Sprint for a number of years, and recently got an HTC Evo 4G. Its even better now with iOs4 on it.%0D %0D I don't have an iPhone, but that's primarily because I don't really care for AT&T as a carrier. The screen is very responsive and beautiful, and it works flawlessly for everything it does. I have an iPod Touch, which I really love. CNET SENUTI PCBut I've been a PC guy since I got my first computer, and the IT shop I work in is entirely PC and Linux. ![]() There's a simplicity to them and an elegance that just really can't be denied. ![]() I do like mac computers, though I've never actually owned one. PCs and macs both serve their purpose, you just have to decide which trade offs you'd rather deal with. itunes does drive me bonkers, but how much time do I use itunes compared to the ipod? Maybe 1%? It really doesn't matter, and you don't HAVE to use itunes. I'll still buy CD's if I can't get mp3's from Amazon or itunes plus, but I prefer to stick to digital. I was also suddenly able to travel without a laptop, since I dumped pics from my digital camera directly to my ipod. No more fumbling for CD's while driving, or wanting to listen to something and not having the right CD with me. Then along came the ipod, capable of holding every single song I owned, and making it easy to listen to at any given time. I had an early Compaq MP3 player that held about 20 songs, and remember thinking how incredible it was.that this was the future. That is, until someone in another company sends me a docx file.Īnd ipods? Ipods changed my life. ![]() CNET SENUTI TVMy iphone works perfectly with my Apple TV, my Apple TV worked perfectly with my Mac.Īt work, we never have issues with IP conflicts or file incompatibility, or being able to access a file server or printer. On the positive - when macs can work with other mac-stuff, it's flawless. I'm also not a fan of not being able to update.Īt least I got the iphone update the day it came out - OP, you're getting Froyo sometime in late July, I think? iPhone apps have become an essential part of my life, and Android apps aren't quite there yet. I would like to be able to make a call with my iphone. I do file conversions and rips and things on the mac, partly because it's beefier, and also because I don't have to worry about getting a virus or anything. My netbook runs about as fast as my Macbook Pro, but it also has next to no hard drive space or processing power, so it isn't running the same heavy software. I have old hard drives, files, and hardware (stupidly enough, my damn universal remote) that won't work with macs. I will never be without a PC, for compatibility issues alone. There are positives and negatives for both macs and PC's. ![]() OP, you're not looking at the whole picture. I'm not an itard, but obviously, I use a lot of apple stuff. My main home computer is a PC netbook, but I also have a macbook pro, an iphone, and an apple tv. ![]()
